Pasar Ikan : The Place for Delicious Makassar Food

Pasar Ikan : The Place for Delicious Makassar Food.

# Theme: Local
# Price: less than US$10
# Comparison: least expensive
# Address: Pasar Ikan, Jl. Pasar Ikan, Ujung Pandang
# Directions: Start at Jalan Ujung Pandang, head for South along the seawall of Pantai Losari

The Pasar Ikan (Fish Market) is on the coast of Pantai Losari (Losari Beach, near the Losari Beach Inn). Busiest at dawn there's a variety of fish, live or otherwise, are laid out (eels, lobster, crab, squid, prawns, sharks). Early afternoon numerous eating/hawkerstalls are set up and you can walk all night long. This is the place to go to eat local foods when night-time transforms the palm-line into Sunset-Strip! It is the "longest restaurant in the world".

... try Pisang Epe and Coto Makassar (don't ask what's in it!), and terrific Ikan Bakar (fried fish completed with rice, cucumber, chili sauce and hot tea for about 1$ or less!). Get Mie Goreng (fried noodles), and unbelievably good Cap Cai Soup ...

A delicious Makassar dinner
and no sakit perut - stomach ache
